Strange LCD Monitor isn't it?

I saw this via Engadget and it is quite odd. A LCD Manufactor has designed a monitor that is 19" and has a 8.4" additional screen. The smaller screen resides at the top of the larger screen. The only thought I could see with this smaller screen is being able to watch video or have a picture slide show running. Otherwise, I don't think this would be very useful.
