Being Faithful.

I'm in the midst of writing a yearbook manual for our school and for my future reference. Too many times, I have forgotten what tips and tricks I have learned, so this manual should help me eliminate those times. I also think it is important so others after me will have something to start with as they continue our school's yearbook tradition. I know that one day somebody will be following after me and I need to leave them something profitable. I hope that this manual will do just that.
Leaving behind something that others can use is, I believe, lacking in our society. People are not concerned about the course of their actions, but rather do as they wish neglecting the impact of their decisions on the lives of others. As pastors and servants in the Lord's work, we are called to be faithful stewards. This reminds me of a song called "Find us Faithful." I remember singing this for my college's missions conference and all the preacher boys, about 300 of us, sang this. I have never forgotten the words of the song nor that night we sang. Here are the lyrics of the song and I hope that this words are a blessing and an encouragement to you today:

We're pilgrims on the journey
Of the narrow road
And those who've gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace

Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who've gone before us
Let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives

Chorus
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift though all we've left behind
May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find
