4cast - Your weather forecaster for your PDA

Weather can play an important part in my job. If I am having a youth activity outdoors or the school is having a field trip, I am usually checking the weather in the days before the event to make sure the weather will be decent. While a small task at times, I wanted to make this task as convenient as possible so I installed 4cast on my Palm Lifedrive.

4cast gives you your area's weather forecast via Yahoo Weather. You will get Today's weather & next 4 days of weather. Weather radar images, weather alerts, and detailed forecasts are some of the features of this program. I like it because it supports 320x480 screens. You can have 4cast update wireless thru wifi or your data network and also via hotsync. I don't think you'll find another weather app that will update during hotsync. I've also installed a couple plugins that allow it to function within Datebk6 and QuickNews. Other plugins are available for Zlauncher and 2day.

The developer is very helpful and there is a thread over at 1src that talks about the beta developments. If you would like to try the current beta, you can look for it here.

4cast sells for $9.95 and if you purchase it over at Palm OS Central, there is an additional %20 savings. You get this savings by entering BOO in the promo field at checkout. The code will work until the end of today, but sometimes it lingers for a couple days or another 20% off coupon code comes out.
