An open source free software suite designed for students.
Our church has a good number of students in colleges and many of them use computers non-stop while their for email, writing papers, etc. I know when I was a college student, you are always lacking money. Well, some folks have decided to put together the best of the freeware software that a student would use and put it into one convenient location. The site is called Software For Starving Students. From word processing to password keeping to sound editor to internet browsing, they cover all of the best freeware available for a students needs. Now that doesn't mean someone else wouldn't be interested in this software suite. There are lots of great pieces of software here, so you might want to take a look. BTW, the have both Apple and Windows versions available.
This could be a great help to the college students in your ministry. I plan on mentioning this collection of software to our college students.
" Software for Starving Students is a free collection of programs organized for students (but available to anyone). We've gathered a list of best-in-class programs onto one CD (one disc for OS X, one for Windows), including a fully-featured office suite, a cutting-edge web browser, multi-media packages, academic tools, utilities and more."
